Volunteer Days 2025
Join us November 5, 6 and 7th!
As the leaves begin to change color, we’re reminded that cross country skiing and fat tire biking on the North Shore snow is just a few months away. If your excitement for the season needs an outlet, please join us in the preparations of the trails during the Norpine Volunteer Trail Days.
This year’s Trail Days will be November 5th, 6th and 7th. This is your opportunity to learn more about and improve the Norpine trail system with hands-on maintenance activities. With your day and a half of volunteer trail work we are asking for a donation that comes with membership to the Norpine Trail Association, 2 nights on the North Shore with 2 nights lodging, 2 sack lunchs and a potluck dinner. Saving your spot ranges from $100 for individuals to $50 for two people sharing a bed.
For the accommodations, three vendors have donated a total of 7 rooms and one large cabin. 6 of the rooms have queen beds, 1 room has 2 queen beds and the cabin has room for up to 10 people. To maximize the number of volunteers we encourage couples to stay in the rooms and perhaps a group of friends or ski team could share the cabin.
The specifics from vendor supporters,
- Cascade Lodge will provide 4 rooms, 3 rooms have a queen bed each and one room as two queens all have private bathrooms.
- Cascade Restaurant & Pub, will provide 2 breakfasts and 2 sack lunchs on the 6th and 7th and the food for the potluck dinner at Solbakken on the 6th.
- Ski Hill Cabins and Saunas will provide a cabin with sleeping for up to 10 people
- Solbakken Resort On Superior, will provide 3 rooms that can accommodate 2 people each. They will also host the dinner on the 6th.

New Storage Garage
This was a huge undertaking for our small Norpine Trail Association.
Doing it was made possible by a $15,000 8-year loan from Cook County, by a $5,000 grant from the North Star Ski Touring Club and from Norpine funds generated by GIA assistance from the DNR, contributions by the Lutsen Tofte Tourist Association, Norpine members and business sponsors. Thanks to everyone that made this building possible.
